Louisiana Bicentennial Cypress Legacy Treasure Hunt

A Registry of the Oldest/Largest Known Cypress Trees
 in Each Louisiana Parish

The Louisiana Bicentennial Cypress Legacy announces a statewide treasure hunt for the oldest and largest (in circumference) bald cypress in each parish.  Follow this link to our registry to see the trees that have been landmarked.  Many parishes have not yet had their oldest/largest trees identified and registered.

If you know of a cypress tree in your parish that may be at least as old/large as that shown, or if you can help us fill in the blank entries for parishes that are lacking identified trees, send info to Harvey Stern, coordinator, Louisiana Bicentennial/Louisiana Purchase Cypress Legacy at lapurchasecypresslegacy@gmail.com.
